High above Orange County, this weekend, in Oak Canyon Park, will be the Cali Uncorked Festival. And by the sound of the title, this mountainous area of Silverado, CA, will play host to several breweries and wineries offering over 100 craft beers and wine. Not to mention a small armada of food trucks, music, and comedy, featuring David Koechner. This event is from 1-7pm, with unlimited tastings from 1-4pm.
On the suds side of the equation will be breweries such as Belching Beaver Brewery, Ladyface Ale Companie, Barley Forge Brewing Company, Anchor Brewing Company, Ballast Point Brewing Company, Knee Deep Brewing Company, and Rough Draft Brewing Company, among many others. On the vino side, Eberle Winery, J Vineyards & Winery, Hook & Ladder, J. Lohr, Bokisch Vineyards, and Ampelos.
What better food to pair with your brew or pinot than something from one of the gourmet food trucks. Porko Rico BBQ, the Slidebar, Devilicious, Bier Beisl Bakery, Slater’s 50/50, The Viking Truck, and The Cut will be ready to serve up handcrafted food to compliment any beer or wine you’re enjoying.
And did we mention entertainment? Music for this gigantic event will be performed by Rebelution, Collie Buddz, Matt Costa and Tim Curren. Plus, there will comedy presented by the Irvine Improv, featuring comedians such as, Joe Sib, Gene Pompa, and David Koechner. Yes, that’s right, the SNL alum and sports guy from Anchorman, David Koechner. But before Mr. Koechner takes the stage, he’ll be enjoying a few hop-heavy brews with the rest of us.
There will also be some excellent speakers presenting. Dr. Bill Sysak, Beer Ambassador and certified Cicerone of Stone Brewing Company, will be speaking about the California craft beer movement, and the impact and influence our breweries have on the rest of the world. Dave Adams, Director of Beer Education and certified Cicerone at Green Flash Brewing Company. Dave will be speaking about craft beer, as well as beer pairing.
So join BeerQwest, David Koechner, Dr. Bill, Dave Adams, and dozens and dozens of craft breweries, wineries and gourmet food vendors, for what appears to be a colossal event. Ticket information can be found through here. We hope to see ya there, cheers!
